Kim Meylemans was born in Amberg, Germany and is a daughter of Belgian parents. In 2009 she first got in contact with skeleton in Königssee where she lived for 9 years. She evolved quickly and made the sport her own. First, she represented the German federation, with a fifth place at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck. She followed her roots and in 2014 she chose to represent Belgium. In 2018, she became the first Belgian skeleton athlete at an Olympic event. She is now working hard towards the 2022 and 2026 Olympics.
